New Mexico Bankruptcy Court -
 


       
The New Mexico Bankruptcy Court, formally called the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico is situated in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Hon. Robert H. Jacobvitz is the Chief Bankruptcy Judge and Norman H. Meyer Jr. is the Clerk of Court. The Acting Chief Deputy Clerk is Lana Merewether.

       Cases are also heard in two other cities, Santa Fe and Roswell.

The Judges

       The courtrooms and chambers for each individual judge are located on the thirteenth floor of the "Dennis Chavez Federal Building, United States Courthouse" in Downtown Albuquerque.

Chief Judge Robert H. Jacobvitz- Judge Jacobvitz's courtroom, the Sandia Courtroom, is situated on the east side of the thirteenth floor. His preliminary hearings are conducted in his Conference Room, room number 13017. Hon. David T. Thuma - The courtroom is located in the west side of the thirteenth floor in the Animas Courtroom. Preliminary hearings are conducted in his Hearing Room in room number 13102. Fees

       The Bankruptcy Court website has a list of fees including the Bankruptcy Court Fee Schedule that pertains to your bankruptcy case. Within this section, relevant information is provided on the waiver of Chapter 7 filing fee, payment of filing fee in installments and Chapter 11 quarterly fees paid to the US Trustee.

 

Forms

       Most of the bankruptcy forms can be downloaded from their forms section on their web site. The forms are downloadable for free and available in .pdf (portable document format), .doc (Microsoft Word Document and .wpd (Corel WordPerfect format). Some of the forms include Chapter 13 and creditor forms, individuals filing bankruptcy without an attorney and forms for attorneys when representing a client on his behalf.
